Just opposite the Stock Exchange, look for the famous Rostral Columns. The red Doric columns are both beautiful and practical, formerly acting as a beacon to passing vessels. Seated marble figures decorate the base of each column, representing the four major rivers — the Volga, Dnieper, Neva and Volkhov.
